– For your consideration is this 2003 Jose Ramirez R2 classical acoustic guitar.
– Made in Madrid, Spain, the since discontinued R2 model; a solid cedar top, solid rosewood sides, and a laminated rosewood back.
– Now nearly 22 years old (as of 2025), the sound of this classical has matured nicely. And while this wonderful instrument exhibits only light use with superficial cosmetic wear, this back displays notorious finish gassing under the guitar’s clear coat. There are ways to remove the fogging, though we have not attempted to do so. This is a manufacturer’s finish defect, and is not a result of being exposed to humidity.
– Otherwise, this guitar is a “no issues” example with no breaks, no cracks, and no repairs.
– Neck measurements: 2″ nut width, .815″ neck depth at 1st fret, .925″ neck depth at 12th fret.
– The guitar has not been setup since the factory installed the original bridge saddle. The string height remains at .2″ on the bass side, which is great for Latin Jazz, or can easily be adjusted and lowered for more comfortable action.
– No case.
