– For your consideration is this vintage 1996 Fender Jag-Stang electric guitar.
– This 1st generation example, serial number U028396, was famously designed by Kurt Cobain. The ’96 “50th Anniversary 1946-1996” medallion edition was the only full year of MIJ-branded production prior to the Jag-Stang being outfitted with the later “Crafted in Japan” serial number decal. So, only Jag-Stangs made in between late-’95 through ’96 have the earlier Made in Japan designation.
– This good all original Sonic Blue example incudes an era appropriate gig bag.
– It plays great, and it sound fantastic.
– While this Jag-Stang doesn’t display much playing wear, it does exhibit several serious condition flaws: namely a large chip on the back and bold finish checking on the front of the body. The guitar is in perfect structural shape, and is not broken, cracked, or repaired, though these flaws are a bit abnormal. There is also light oxidation and surface rust on the non-chromed metal hardware.
– Neck measurements: .830″ depth at 1st fret, .910″ depth at 12th fret, 1.602″ nut width
– Weight: 7.0 lbs.
