– For your consideration is this vintage 1983 Simmons Clap Trap HandClap Synthesizer drum machine unit.
– This very nice 100% all original example, serial number 661, is in good working order and nicely preserved cosmetic condition. The manual trigger button is missing the cap while also being incomplete. It is not a difficult repair/replacement, and hasn’t been addressed since it’s not a necessary button, as this unit can be triggered externally.
– This version with a black angular metal enclosure is the predecessor to the subsequent plastic case variant.
– With less bells and whistles than those which were produced thereafter, this version is the better sounding of the two. It’s analog punch and character remain unrivaled. Incredibly useful and underrated piece.
