– For your consideration is this vintage 1983 Fender Stratocaster American Std. maple neck.
– This is an incredibly rare opportunity to purchase a Fender Strat neck which was never completed: having left the Fullerton factory in an unfinished state. It was purchased alongside many other similarly incomplete necks in a collection from a long time Fullerton factory Fender employee.
– The neck is stamped “J Torres” and “OCT 25 xx”.
– This maple neck is nearly complete considering it is fretted and has a blank nut installed. It was pre-drilled for a 4-bolt neck plate with tuner post holes being the proper gauge for the Fender embossed Schaller tuners used on both the Standard and Elite models.
– This neck seems to have been considered not viable due to a drying crack that appeared near the base of the neck. The neck has been in this same condition for decades, so it is very safe to assume all drying cracks are stable. Scroll through the gallery to reference.
– – Neck measurements: .805″ depth at 1st fret, .875″ depth at 12th fret, 1.676″ nut width
– Weight: 1.2 lbs.
