– For your consideration is this vintage 1980 Ibanez Musician MC300DS electric solidboy guitar.
– This very interesting 100% all original and cosmetically clean example, serial number H805198, is a bit anomalous while also being the version advertised in the 1980 Ibanez catalog issued in Germany. It features the confluence of two very rare features: it has a 6-position vari-tone tone control selector which was less common than the more common 4-knob version, however, it also features a side-jack output and NOT a top jack. The 1980 Ibanez US catalog printed in English features this version with a top jack. After thorough research there appears to be 2 other examples documented with these same features, only 1 of which is in the DS dark stain finish.
– A wonderful MIJ instrument, this guitar features: a neck-through construction with ash and mahogany body wings, a Dark Stain (DS) finish, a five-piece maple and walnut neck, a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard, (2) Ibanez Super 88 humbucking pickups with individual Tri-Sound switches, a 6-position rotary Varitone tone control, a Gibraltar bridge, gold hardware, and a brass-bone nut.
– Pickups measurements: 8.40 kOhm (neck) and 7.99 kOhm (bridge).
– Neck measurements: 1.702″ nut width, .856″ neck depth at 1st fret, .909″ neck depth at 12th fret.
– Weight: 8.9 lbs.
– Non-original hardshell case included.
