– For your consideration is this vintage 1977 Hofner Model E 490 vintage acoustic electric 12-string guitar.
– This very nice fine example, serial number 1498, is preserved in 100% all original condition and includes the original “denim” chipboard case.
– Recently set up and adjusted, this is an exceedingly wonderful instrument. It plays with incredible ease, and sounds great both acoustically and when plugged in.
– A rather rare acoustic electric model, this Hofner twelve is outfitted with a full-size single coil pickup. The floating sound hole embossed logo pickup displays 3 rectangular pole piece magnets, and appears to be the same variant that was inlayed within the end of the fretboard in other acoustic-electric models, like the 492 E.
– It features; a German spruce top and laminated mahogany back and sides which have a walnut-stained flame maple veneer.
– Neck measurements: 1.777″ nut width, .792″ neck depth at 1st fret, .884″ neck depth at 12th fret.
