– The ST-800 Stereo Box is an electric guitar pedal effect introduced by Ibanez for 1976. It was made in Japan. The ST-800 functions as a stereo panner as well as a providing a tremolo effect. It is a great basic tremolo when used in mono or an immersive stereo weapon when both outputs are used to feed separate amplifiers. It contains a low-frequency occillator (LFO) which modulates the volume of the signal to create a tremolo effect (when used with a single output) or a stereo panning, or “ping-pong”, effect (when used with a pair of outputs). A single knob labeled “Speed” controls the speed, or rate, of the effect with values ranging from 0.2Hz to 12Hz.[1] A single push-push switch activates or deactivates the effect; this would normally be activated by the player’s foot with the pedal sitting on the floor. The ST-800 is powered by a single 9V cell; it has no connection for an external power source. The single input is located on the left side of the pedal, with a pair of outputs on the right side. The ST-800 was discontinued after 1978.
