– For your consideration is this vintage 1975 Epiphone FT-550 Excellente dreadnought acoustic guitar.
– This single owner virtually NOS Blue Label MIJ specimen, serial number 645459, is near mint with hangtags, purchase receipt, and the original hard case.
– Perhaps the finest example in existence, this guitar is as crisp today as it was when purchased new some FIFTY years ago!
– The first generation MIJ Epiphone guitars which sport the “Epiphone Inc. Kalamzaoo, Michigan Made in Japan” blue label are famously high quality Japanese instruments made in the Matsumoku factory.
– This top-of-the-line Epi FT-550 features; a laminated spruce top with X-bracing, a Martin D-35 style back with 3-laminated pieces comprised of both rosewood and maple, entirely natural finish, a fixed neck construction, a non-adjustable rosewood bridge, a 14/20 bound fretboard with block inlays, large U profile neck shape, bound open book peghead, individual 3-on-a-side enclosed chrome tuning machines, black pickguard with metal “e” emblem.
– An absolute delight, this acoustic guitar both plays and sounds great.
– Body measurements: 40.75″ long x 16″ wide x 4.75″ deep: 25.5″ long scale length: larger than traditional 1 3/4″ (1.761″) nut width, 2″ wide fingerboard at the 12th fret, & 2.125″ wide at the 17th fret.
– Neck measurements: .926″ depth at 1st fret, 1.00″ depth at 12th fret.
