- For your consideration is this vintage 1969 Kay C-1 Double Bass Viol 3/4 standup acoustic bass.
- This very nice 100% all original example, serial number 57428, is preserved in very nice original cosmetic condition.
- Made in Chicago by the Kay Musical Instrument Company, during their last year of production, this C-1 is the perfect player’s bass.
- Famous for its rugged Maple plywood construction and finished in nitrocellulose lacquer, the C-1 was Kay’s most popular upright bass and has been enlisted by players of all genres.
- Aside from a neck heel seam separation and subsequent repair, this 3/5 upright bass is really quite crisp. There is residual overspray on the neck heel, with the seam being very smooth to the touch.
