– For your consideration is this vintage 1968 Oscar Teller 8/P classical nylon string acoustic guitar.
– This very nice 100% all original example, serial number 68051718, is a wonderful Torres construction instrument comprised from solid Alpine Spruce and high-grade book-matched Brazilian Rosewood. The neck is solid mahogany. Both the bridge and peghead veneer are brilliant Ebony. The solid brass tuners are hand-engraved.
– It has a 65cm/25.59″ scale length, and is incredibly transparent and articulate. This classical sounds much better than a Ramirez or comparable Spanish-made acoustic: it’s a very high-level guitar.
– Teller’s finest model, the 8/P or model #8, is an incredibly refined classical guitar actually made by Horst Teller, with a near perfectly symmetrical in build, and an expert level attention to detail.
– The spruce top show the almost invisible ghost of a flamenco style scratch plate, and it is assumed that when it was removed, the adhesive pulled up a very small splinter which has since been re-glued. If one didn’t mention the pickguard shadow, nobody would ever notice. And the small splinter simply presents as fingernail wear.
– The top, back, sides, and neck all remain cracks free and in perfect structural condition. Cosmetically, the guitar is also quite crisp. The original lacquer finish is in very excellent shape.
