– For your consideration is this vintage 1966 Teisco Del Rey VN-2 electric guitar.
– While ultimately produced by the FujiGen factory, the VN series (comprised of the 2 pickup VN-2 and 4 pickup VN-4 models) was also distributed with following imprints; Arbiter, Audition, Demian, Guyatone, Ibanez, Lindell, Lyric, Noble, Orlando, and Tulio. Though the majority of those made actually have no branding on them whatsoever.
– Most often tuned to E to E, some also tune it B to B, which happens to resonate nicely with these early Teisco pickups. This example has been set up with fresh strings and perfectly adjusted action. The neck is straight, and the factory small frets are intact with plenty of life remaining. It does not tailpiece cover or tremolo arm (reissues are available).
– Often incorrectly cited as having either a 26.5″ or 27″ scale length, the VN-2 actually features a 26 3/4″ scale length. It’s not quite a traditional baritone schedule though this guitar features a longer scale length than any other traditional electric guitar.
– Pickup measurements: 5.00 kOhm (neck), 5.02 kOhm (bridge).
– Neck measurements: 1.669″ nut width, .888″ depth at 1st fret, .963″ depth at 12th fret.
– Weight: 7.6 lbs.
