– For your consideration is this vintage 1966 Fender Dual Showman AB763 tube electric instrument amplifier head with 1969 Dual Showman 2×15″ speaker cabinet.
– This mismatched piggyback set is a fantastic player’s rig and represents an incredible bang-for-the-buck amp. It includes a non-original footswitch and custom-fitted Tuki covers.
The Dual Showman amp head, serial number A06367, has “PH” stamped on the tube chart, which designates an August of ’66 completion.
– The original Schumacher transformers are stamped “606616, 606618, -606-6-20.”
– The later production 2 x 15″ JBL speaker cabinet is vertically oriented unlike that which would be original to the black panel era. It features (2) orange frame JBL D130F 15″ speakers, both of which have ben professionally reconed with JBL kits.
– Both the head and cabinet have had the grill cloth replaced. While the head retains the original tolex covering, the cabinet has been recovered completely.
– The amp head has been completely serviced some years ago, and it currently works perfectly. The electrolytic capacitors were exchanged and all tubes are Groove Tube replacements.
– It works perfectly and sounds incredible. This is a serious sounding amp: it’s VERY loud, and it’s very clear with exorbitat low end. Great for both guitar and bass!
