– For your consideration is this vintage 1965 Kent Model 744 8-string electric mandolin/mandola.
– It includes the original rectangular hard case and (2) era appropriate straps.
– This exquisite 100% all original example features a very rare white finish with triple tortoise binding and complementary tortoise pickguard.
– This is a somewhat rare variant which was factory unbranded, and void of: a Kent peghead inlay, a Kent pickguard designation, a Kent-embossed bridge cover, and a Kent inscription upon the single coil pickup.
– The Kent 744 is best known for being an 8-string electric solidbody model, which is atypical when compared to many 4-string examples from the era. Most notably featuring a 15.75″ scale length which is why it is often also considered a mandola.
– A fantastic playing and sounding instrument, this is an all-around wonderful mandolin.
– Neck measurements: 1.186″ nut width, .786″ neck depth at first fret, .838″ neck depth at 12th fret
– Weight: 5 lbs.
