– For your consideration is this vintage 1964 Fender Jazz Bass electric solidbody bass guitar.
– This perfect player’s example, serial number L50800, was refinished in red sparkle many decades ago.
– In the neck pocket, it’s evident that this bass was originally Lake Placid Blue. Whether it had a matching headstock or not, as it does now, remains a mystery.
– It includes the original no-logo black tolex hard case and both the pickup and bridge covers.
– The pickguard and neck pickup are modern replacements, as the bass appears to have been modified for a non-original neck position pickup many years ago. (See pics)
– Otherwise, all parts and electronics are original, including; the gray bobbin bridge pickup, the pots, the bridge, the reverse wind tuning machines, the pickup cover, the bridge cover, the finger rest, etc.
– A perfect player’s bass, or an incredbiel candidate for restoration, this instrument represents upward potential and really great bang-for-the-buck value.
