– For your consideration is this vintage 1963 Silvertone 1421 hollowbody electric guitar.
– This very nice 100% all original example includes the original fawn chipboard case.
– A great sounding and playing guitar, it is in very good all original cosmetic condition. With expected wear and handsome weather-checking, it is both charming and preserved in presentable condition. The original white plastic strap pin needs to be replaced as the ball end has crumbled slightly.
– Very much the same guitar as it’s Harmony H46 “Mars” model counterpart, this great little Chicago-made vintage guitar features: nitrocellulose two-tone tobacco sunburst finish, (2) chrome “Hershey Bar” pickups, (4) Bakelite “cupcake” control knobs, small trapeze tailpiece, classic Harmony bolt-on neck design, 3-on-a-side plate tuners, and an adjustable wood bridge.
– It is stamped “F-60-xP” within the body, which designates the body as being finished in the Fall of 1960. The CTS pots are stamped “1376318” which denote a Spring of ’63 production. The harness and all electronics appear to be completely original and untouched. The date stamps on the underside of the pickups appear to read “63,” but are no longer intelligible.
– Neck measurements: 1.732″ nut width, .919″ depth at 1st fret, 1.018″ depth at 12th fret
– Weight: 5 lbs.
