– For your consideration is this vintage 1957 Fender Bassman 5E6 electric guitar amplifier.
– This nice 100% all original narrow panel example, serial number BM01605 is very nicely preserved.
– The original lacquered tweed cabinet is very nice, remains miraculously unfaded, and displays some expected though light patina. The leather handle is in perfect structural shape. Internally, the amp is incredibly clean and crisp with virtually no oxidation. The original transformers are incredibly clean, as is the chassis. The original Jensen P10R 10″ AlNiCo speakers are in very excellent cosmetic condition. Though all of the tubes are vintage, it appears 1/2 of the tubes are original. All of the original tube covers are present.
– It was lightly serviced several years ago, with only 3 caps being replaced. The original electrolytic caps remain in perfect working condition. The original 2-prong gray power cable also remains present. 1 of the 4 metal cabinet glides has been replaced with another of slightly larger size.
– Tube chart date stamp: GC (March ’57)
– Jensen speaker date stamps: 2x “220 634” and 2x “220 705”. All of which are original to this amp.
