– For your consideration is this 1947 Bell & Howell Model 179 Opti-onics Part 14027 film projector amplifier.
– Very similar to the Filmosound Model 621, the 179 chassis sports a pair of 6V6 power tubes, a 5Y3 rectifier tube, as well as, a 6SJ7 and a 6SN7. This classic combo makes for the perfect guitar amp.
– This example, serial number 142130, is in unrestored completely original condition. It’s the perfect candidate for a conversion project.
– The transformers are guaranteed to be in perfect working order. The Chicago Standard A1218 output transformer denotes a mid-’47 production.
– It is missing several tubes.
