– For your consideration is this vintage 1938 Recording King Roy Smeck model A104 acoustic electric archtop guitar.
– This mostly original example, serial number WE-34, is in poor cosmetic condition and includes the original pre-war hardshell case.
– Made by Gibson, the A104 was a budget version of the more illustrious ES-150.
– A rather sad specimen, this guitar exhibits numerous cracks and several seam separations.
– While the amazing pre-war Charlie Christian style pickup with corresponding harness are original, the bridge, tailpiece and tuners have all been replaced. The original bound fire stripe pickguard is intact and original as well.
– The original Centralab pots are dated 1938.

– Pickup measurement: 2.58 kOhm
– Neck measurements: 1.705″ nut width, 1.037″ neck depth at 1st fret, 1.255″ neck depth at 12th fret.
