1973 Gibson ES-335 Vintage Electric Semi-Hollowbody Electric Guitar in BLACK – ’73 ES-335 TD Custom Color Ebony Finish Norlin Era w/ Patent No. Decal T-Top Humbucking Pickups ES-335 TDW w/ OHSC (200050)

– For your consideration is this vintage 1973 Gibson ES-335 electric semi-hollowbody electric guitar.
– This very rare original custom color BLACK example, serial number 200050, is a wonderful player’s guitar with a high-level professional refret and several player’s “enhancements.” While otherwise completely intact with no breaks, no cracks, and no structural issues, it was modified to accommodate a stop wrap-around tail-piece which necessitated the installation of anchor studs. Additionally, the previous repair incorporated paint touch-ups where the original trapeze tailpiece screw holes were, since re-drilled, as well as non-original tuning machine holes having been filled. All of this work was performed by a skilled luthier. Blacklight photos have been included to illuminate where the resultant buffing and polishing disturbed the original clear coat.
The wiring harness remains completely original, and the original T-Top Patent No. humbuckers are nearly perfectly balanced. It’s a great sounding and playing guitar: a true player’s piece.
– With incredibly low action, this guitar is a dream to play. Professionally set up with .010s, it’s perhaps one of the best feeling ’70s Gibsons we’ve offered in quite some time.
– It presents as a very clean condition ES-335, with a very nicely preserved factory custom color BLACK finish with lustrous chrome hardware, however, it does exhibit some light playing wear, though none of the superficial wear appears to be through the clear coat.
– Setup with super low action with .050″ string height on the low-E string at the 1st fret, and .065″ string height on the low-E string at the 12th fret.
– Neck measurements: 1.572″ (1 9/16″) nut width, .830″ neck depth at 1st fret, .978″ neck depth at 12th fret.
– Pickup measurements: 6.65 kOhm (bridge), 6.66 kOhm (neck). A perfectly matched set of highly musical Patent No. sticker humbuckers with clean solder joints.
– Weight: 7.4 lbs. Very lightweight!
