– For your consideration is this 1999 Taylor 814-CE acoustic electric guitar.
– A very nice 100% original example, serial number 990824131, this jumbo cutaway Taylor is in clean cosmetic condition and includes the original hard shell case.
– This earlier version of the 814-CE features a Fishman under-the-saddle pickup system. Some people prefer this variant to the more modern 814-CE which has the Expression System.
– It was made prior to the introduction of the Standard II X-bracing pattern, and some prefer this earlier build approach which features thoughtful scalloped bracing.
– Additionally, this guitar sports a hand-finished and hand-shaped neck which is a very comfortable medium-size soft C-shape profile.
– Rich yet balanced, this is a very good sounding acoustic. The solid spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides combine to produce a tone akin to that of a Martin 000-28.
– Preserved in excellent condition, it does display a slight singular weather check along the top’s center seam. Otherwise it’s very crisp with only light evidence of respectful playing wear.
– Neck measurements: 1.757″ / 1 3/4″ nut width, .850″ neck depth at 1st fret, .852″ neck depth at 12th fret.
