– For your consideration is this one-of-a-kind vintage 1983 Fender Jazz Bass vintage reissue electric bass guitar neck.
– There may not be another Fender neck like this in existence: procured from a long time Fender Fullerton factory employee, this ’83 Jazz Bass features both a curved cap board rosewood fretless fingerboard AND a skunk stripe! Having been removed from Fender’s Fullerton factory before completion, there are no date stamps of any kind: just a singular “J. Torres” stamp. While the majority of necks purchased from this collection were made between 1978-1983, there is no definitive way to know exactly what year this was made. It does however share a similar experimental and unique construction to a Strat neck acquired in the collection which was stamped late-’82.
– The neck was not fretted or finished, yet based upon the order in which frets were installed by the Fender factory, this neck was clearly intended to be fretless upon completion.
– It was pre-drilled for proper vintage Fender tuners, pre-drilled for a neck plate, has a cut nut which appears to be factory left-handed, but was never finished with a clear coat. The original truss rod nut is perfectly crisp and has never been turned.
– Neck measurements: .854″ depth at 1st fret, .957″ depth at 12th fret, 1.588″ nut width
– Weight: 1.4 lbs.
